TS Guided Rod Pro – Fordlands Road

Project Overview
A section of a DN150 vitrified clay foul water sewer at a depth of approx. 1.5 metres had collapsed
underneath the rear garage of a property which would have required the demolition of the garage
to replace.

Description of Works
The project comprised of the replacement / diversion of a foul sewer pipe at the rear of the
property due to a collapse underneath the adjacent garage.
The civils team effectively located and exposed the adjacent line in the rear gardens through a
small excavation. The TS Guided Rod Pro was then lowered into the small excavation over the
existing pipe and set to the required gradient. Subsequently, the pilot bore was advanced into a
reception pit excavation over the collapsed pipe in the property’s driveway.
Upon reaching the reception pit, small 0.5m sections of 110mm Condor pipe was assembled and
pulled through the ground, successfully diverting the flow into the rear gardens and adjacent foul
line.
